I came across this site for THE WIZARD by accident 1 week ago. It’s a great looking site and a wonderful tribute to David Rappaport who was very special to me. Also, while searching the site I about fell over when I saw the 1st fan letter posted under “Dec 1986” from Denise M. age 18, Buchanan, NY… that was me! I still have the rough draft of that letter. And I am astounded that my letter to David has been kept all these years by Michael Berk - it’s just amazing. Finding the site and seeing my letter brought back memories - both good and of course heartbreaking. David was a special person - and a Godsend to me at that time and apparently to a lot of other people as well. David mattered. He mattered for his roles as an actor, but most importantly he mattered as a person and he made a difference while he was here. And thanks to this terrific site, he is not forgotten and I now know others felt as I did about him.
I am concrete proof that I have NOT forgotten either the show or David Rappaport. I wrote a letter to David as a teenager and approximately 21 years and 7 months later, here I am! And if I haven't forgotten, then there are others out there who haven't forgotten either. Some have found their way to this site and others still have yet to come. My own reason for wanting THE WIZARD brought to DVD or aired again is this: Although I am no longer the shell of a person I was at 18 years old I want to see the show now at age 40 and see what else I can get from it. Because no matter what our ages or life circumstances are, we can all use some positive messages, influences and entertaining fun! 20TH Century Fox - BRING THE WIZARD BACK - don't make my announcing my actual age all for nothing please!

I was watching the one video tape I have of eight episodes of The Wizard and wish the show had continued longer than it did. If I had known how much I would enjoy it I would have taped it from the start and had all 19 episodes. While there was plenty that strained our powers of belief, there was so much heart and soul in how Simon, Alex and Tillie touched those whose paths they crossed. With no notice it will be released on DVD I am pessimistic about its chances, but I felt the same about Beauty and the Beast, and all three seasons of that more recent series was released on DVD, so who knows?
