Radin who are still greatly missed.~ We, the fans, will never be able to thank all of you enough. ********************************************************************** So, somewhere in the back of your mind is a memory that seems like a dream. The memory of a television show filled with action, adventure & invention. A show with lots of remote control cars, helicopters & flying saucers, balls that turn into strongmen, jumping dolls & stringless yo-yo’s. Amazing toys invented by an even more amazing man whose name was Simon McKay. Inventor, philanthropist, cockeyed optimist, sometime government subcontractor, computer expert, musician & all-around genius. There didn’t seem to be anything this man couldn’t do. He considered his greatest weapons to be the power of positive thinking, imagination & friendship. ~ Simon says, it wasn’t a dream ~ We are very pleased to inform you that you did not imagine a bit of it. This show really did exist, although it was only on the air for a single season. The Wizard premiered September 9, 1986 starring an actor who was an incredibly amazing man in his own right, David Rappaport. David was joined on screen by the incomparable talents of Doug Barr, as agent Alex Jagger, & Fran Ryan, as Simon’s long-time friend, Tillie Russell. We are also very pleased to welcome to you to the official & definitive cyber home of The Wizard. ~ Site Constantly Under Invention ~ One thing Simon McKay taught all of us is that we are never, ever too old to be curious or use our imaginations. That is especially true with this website. In this place, curiosity & imagination will get you everywhere. There's no telling what has been created or revised recently. So, whether you're looking for the first time, or haven't been on the site for a bit, you might just find it worth your while to check out the odd hyperlink or two, as well as Updates from Elm Street. (The MGT. is learning web development on the fly ~ seat-of-my-trousers web development, I like to call it ~ so you are literally watching a multi-level work in progress.) There is no order of importance on this site. Everything contained herein is equally important & just as equally in development. ~ The Michael Berk Collection ~ Thanks to the generosity of Mr. Berk, co-creator of The Wizard & one of the show's # 1 fans, this site is destined to be filled with never before seen behind the scenes material & some material not seen in 20 years. Trivia, rough drafts, scripts, extensive cast & crew credit lists, more rare pictures. Everything you ever wanted to know about the show & then some. Memorabilia that you may suddenly realize you have in storage somewhere. Want to know who else watched The Wizard? Then please check out the Fan Letters & the Save the Wizard Campaign sections, showcasing the love American television audiences had for this show, it's star, et. al., & completely contradicting everything the network said about failing to pull in an audience & low Nielsen ratings. There will continue to be episode synopses, character & invention descriptions, etc. written expressly for this site by The MGT. to co-inside with the original material from the show archives. Just for fun, you'll find some of the best lines from the show scattered around the site, as well. Also in homage, especially to David, The MGT. is dedicated to keeping this bit of cyberspace family friendly & respectful to everyone. We will do our best to give credit to & celebrate the work of everyone on The Wizard, in front of & behind the cameras. Any omission of credit is not intentional. Honestly, if you worked on the show in any capacity, you should just consider this entire website a nod of credit & a major thank you from the fans directly to you. The MGT. is striving to include as much fan input as possible, as well as input from anyone in the cast & crew. Which makes a nice segue to the next bit. ~ Sharing & Never Give Up are the Names of the Game ~ To the fans: Please be sure to read & send a message for the Fan Memories Page to share who & what you remember most about the show (no matter how clear or vague), where you were located & your age in 1986. Or even if you’ve only just discovered the show. If you lived outside the US, we definitely want to know what country the show was aired in and the year. All of your messages will be very deeply cherished by those connected with the show. This page is also home to messages left by fans on the internet from around the world. All messages from the internet will also include a link back to the source. To the cast, crew & their families: We would love to hear from you. It would be an honor to include cast & crew memories of the show. There is an open invitation for anyone on the show who wishes to write their own bio &/or tout their latest projects. Your own thoughts in your own words, which will remain your personal property. It would also be an honor to include links to your personal &/or company websites, but we will not list those links without your direct permission. Please feel free to contact Michael Berk & Douglas Schwartz if you have any questions or concerns about this fansite. To everyone: Be sure to check out the In the Community page, which is just as much in honor of David's mom, Dinah Rappaport, as it is to the rest of the show. We are hoping that this section will inspire everyone to find a way to pay homage through giving & working together to make the world a better place to live. Remember to keep checking back for the addition of more pictures, bios & lists of anything The MGT. or anyone else can think of. We will be moving the campaign to have the show released to DVD forward as much as possible. Check out The Wizard on DVD page to find out more about the campaign & email The MGT. to have your name added to the Petition List. ~"I'll let you into a secret. We're all a Wizard, we just don't know it." - Simon to Katie & Tim - Born to Run~ Thank you for joining us at the fan site!!! We hope to see you again soon!!!
