Fan Letters ~ December, 1986

To David

Hi - I wanted to write & tell you that I think the show is terrific. I love the character Simon McKay. He's so caring & friendly. The philosophy parts of the show (I guess that's what you'd call it) help me get thru the weeks. I know I'll make it thru the worst of times since I've been there before. It just helps when there's someone to guide me thru and that's why "The Wizard" means so much to me. I hope everthing goes well for you & the show. I know I'll keep watching. You are truly a special person.

To David from a personal friend

I don't watch television very often, so you can imagine my surprise when I turned on the TV one evening & there was Li'l Dave being lowered into a blazing fire pit about to be roasted alive! It couldn't be you, & yet it couldn't not be you. And then to make matters totally unfathomable, the show disappeared from all the papers & the TV Guide. Had I imagined the whole thing? Finally, last week when I was hom for Christmas, I watched an entire episode from beginning to end & enjoyed it tremendously.

To David

Thank you for being the person that you are. In doing so, you have helped me in a way to change mine.

After reading about you & the obstacles that you had to overcome, I realized that I could conquer mine. I have gone back to college after 10 years to finish my degree. It may take some time, but I will keep watching your show for encouragement.

The show 'The Wizard', is one of the best on T.V. The fact that you are able to find ways other than violence & by showing hugging & helping people, really makes it a warm & enjoyable show.

I hope that you are fulfilling all of your dreams. It must give you a wonderful feeling in knowing that you are able to affect people's lives by the examples you have led, & by your show. Please don't change!

I wish to also thank you for coming to America & giving us your caring & warmth. We really do appreciate what you are doing. I hope that you will be able to continue portraying yourself on T.V.

To David & Cast

I'm not in the habit of writing fan letters, but I very much enjoy your program The Wizard.

I hope the series goes on successfully for a long time.

It's nice to see some programs portraying people who truly care for others, & are not afraid of getting involved with other's problems.

I've also enjoyed other roles you've done, such as in the movie "The Bride".

To David

Hello! I've never had a chance to write to you before but I'm glad that I've got the opportunity to now. I wanted to write & tell you how much my family & I enjoy seeing you on "The Wizard" on Tuesday nights. You, Doug Barr, Fran Ryan make the perfect team. For the last 3 weeks here in my area "The Wizard" hasn't been on because of the Thanksgiving & Christmas specials. I'm hoping it'll be back on soon. The best Christmas present I could get is to hear "The Wizard" has been renewed for the rest of this season & next season too. It'd be great! The adventures of "The Wizard" makes you set on the edge of your chair wondering what's going to happen next. That's the type of show I like to watch. This is the first time I've ever saw you on TV. But my 17 year old brother Ronnie saw you in "Time Bandits". I think you are real cute on "The Wizard" packing around your bag of magical toys. Plus I like your smile too! Those toys sure get you out of alot of scrapes.

To Michael Berk, Douglas Schwartz & Paul B. Radin

I love your show, it shows creativity, imagination, & it is inspiring. The characters are earthy & believable; the story lines are imaginative; & the main character's "motivations" are inspiring!

I heartily encourage my children to watch, "The Wizard".
